Welcome to the official website for the Supplemental Environmental Assessment for Consolidated Flight Operations at Luke AFB.

Luke AFB is a U.S. Air Force Air Education and Training Command (AETC) training base located in Maricopa County, Arizona, approximately 20 miles northwest of downtown Phoenix, and occupies nearly 4,800 acres. Luke AFB is home to the 56th Fighter Wing (56 FW), the Air Force’s primary active-duty fighter pilot training wing.

The DAF is preparing a Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA) to assess the environmental impacts of bedding down eight additional F-35A aircraft (for a total of 152 primary aircraft authorized) and dedicated Adversary Air (ADAIR) aircraft at Luke AFB.

The purpose and need for the Proposed Action is to have a consistent supply of trained aviators to maintain air superiority, project global power, and ensure national security. Meeting this need involves two components: 1) station additional F-35A aircraft and Aircrews at Luke AFB and 2) provide a dedicated ADAIR capability that employs Combat Air Forces tactics and procedures without redirecting F-35A aircraft and instructors from the critical assignment of pilot production.
